Whew ! . . . . . this engine looks like a Monster ! It's about 4 feet across. We know it will fit in the Vanagon engine bay, but !
230 horsepower. 3.3 liters displacement. 4 valves per cylinder. Coil-on-plug Ignition. Knock sensor of course. Two-barrel 'twin' throttle bodies. Considering the stock 2.1 liter engine has just barely over 100 horsepower, this thing should be . . . . well, overpowered, practically !
The shipping weight of the engine, a huge pile of wires with ECU and air filter, plus the first 5 feet of exhaust with catalytic converters, and a wooden pallet, ( french word, pallet, my guess ) was 587 lbs ! That's a whole lotta engine for a Vanagon !
